environmental degradation is not only well advanced already, but also is getting progressively worse as the countrys population, urbanisation and industrialisation increase, and as its economy develops generally. This concern has led to a growing recognition that economic development and the health and well-being of the countrys population are closely linked with improved environmental management and protection.
